Secret du Nil draws on a belief from ancient Egypt: the bee, a royal symbol, was said to be born from the tears of the sun god Ra, and its honey was served to newlyweds — hence our “honeymoon”. Sidonie Lancesseur, perfumer at Robertet, turns it into an extrait that is both gourmand and floral. Bergamot, bitter orange and bitter almond open on a citrus brightness held in check by their bitterness; the heart brings together orange tree, neroli, toasted almond and honey; vanilla, powdered sugar, cedar and musks close it on an enveloping softness.
