1740 is the birth year of Donatien Alphonse François, Marquis de Sade — and the pretext for a woody leather that apologises for nothing. Bergamot and davana open on a fruited, almost candied flesh, before patchouli, coriander and cardamom close the door. What remains is leather, held by cistus labdanum and smoked birch, which vanilla and immortelle make oddly comfortable: transgression, but seated in an armchair.
