Mirage Exotique is the second creation from Les Nobles Essences, and it takes the opposite tack to the first: where Mirage Gourmand held on to the patisserie, this one heads for the sun. Céline Perdriel opens on passion fruit, mandarin and saffron — a frank, almost tart brightness that the spice keeps from turning into candy. The heart thickens with mango, coconut and rose, then sandalwood, cedar, amber and vanilla close the whole thing on a dry, warm base. Concentrated at 25% and macerated for two to three months, this extrait keeps the light of its opening in a trail that is anything but light: dense, woody, held.
