Ambre 114 owes its name to the hundred and fourteen materials that compose it — a caravanserai rather than a formula. Thyme and nutmeg open on a dry warmth, then rose, geranium and a woody procession of sandalwood, cedar and vetiver settle the spice. Amber arrives last, softened by vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin: amber skin warmed by an aromatic wind, exoticism without the folklore.
